Serving as an ITO
Oh, senior year. Filling out college applications and scholarship forms has really caused me to reflect upon where I am and where I'm going. As I stand at this intersection, I realize how big of an influence being a Thespian and especially an ITO has had on my life. I think of everyone who has helped me get to where I am today. I'm so thankful for my family, director, and mentors who have given their time and energy to encourage me and help me grow as a leader and as a person. I've learned that a good leader is really a good servant.
Now as I look forward on my second and final year as an ITO, I want to be that same kind of serving leader that I've had in my life. I want to invest my time and energy in others, giving back what has been given to me. I've been inspired by my mentors to do something meaningful with my life, and I hope to inspire others to do so as well. This year, I really want to find ways to be an effective leader, by truly serving others and investing in their lives. I just want to look back one day, and know that I have, in some way, made a difference.
