Join us for the best week of high school theatre in the country. The Thespian Festival features more than fifty productions presented by schools from throughout North America and abroad. Plus: a full schedule of workshops presented by theatre professionals, individual performance events, a student playwriting program, opportunities to audition for college and university representatives and for Thespian scholarships, and a chance to hang out with 2,000 or so other Thespians. Don’t miss out. It’s a blast. (While about a quarter of the attending schools bring shows to share with their peers, many Thespian troupes have a great Festival experience without performing. There are no screening or qualification requirements to attend.) Online registration for the 2010 Thespian Festival is up and running. You can begin the process of registering your troupe for the Festival here.
To help your registration go smoothly, we recommend gathering and organizing all the information you’ll need before you begin. Some reminders: You’ll be asked for a cell phone number for each person included in your registration, and an e-mail address for everybody who registers for college auditions or Thespian scholarship auditions. Everybody who registers for this year’s Festival will get a commemorative T-shirt, so you’ll need to know shirt sizes for each member of your delegation. For students who are registering for the National Individual Events Showcase auditions, you’ll need to supply the title, author, and publisher of their selection. Remember that students must be inducted as Thespians (that is, included in a roster that has been received at the home office) by April 1 in order to participate in college auditions or Thespian scholarship auditions. The length of time required to complete the registration process will vary widely, depending on the number of people attending and the number of optional activities they are planning to participate in. If you can’t complete your troupe’s registration in one sitting, you’ll be able to save your work and return to it.
