| Has your school administration appointed a new official troupe director for your ITS troupe? If so, please notify the home office of EdTA as soon as possible to avoid delays in service and benefits. Troupe directors enjoy the same benefits as professional members of EdTA, including subscriptions to Dramatics magazine and Teaching Theatre. Only troupe directors receive “troupe director-only” log-in IDs and passwords for access to special services on our website. All correspondence from EdTA, such as invoices, statements, and broadcast e-mails, are sent to the troupe director’s attention, too, so it is essential that we have the most up-to-date troupe director information possible. To notify us of the change of troupe director, simply download the change of troupe director/troupe information update sheet using the link below, fill it out, and fax or mail it to the EdTA home office address on the form. All change of troupe director forms must include the signatures of both the new troupe director and a school principal or equivalent administrator. This assures EdTA that the new troupe director is serving as the school’s official representative. Please note that while many schools may appoint two or more “troupe co-directors” or additional “assistant troupe directors,” EdTA only recognizes and extends benefits to one official troupe director per troupe. We know new troupe directors face many challenges. Often a new troupe director is a new teacher or new director as well. To make the transition as smooth as possible, we provide a list of tips for new Thespian troupe directors. These include pointers to help you get the most efficient service possible from the EdTA home office, suggestions for how to handle the monetary transactions for your troupe, and helpful hints on how to access the information and resources you will need most as the official troupe director of a Thespian troupe. There is a wealth of information to be found throughout this website’s member services section and the rest of the site. You’ll soon find that exploring all of the various areas will be a valuable investment of time for you and your Thespian troupe.
If you have questions about any aspect of your troupe’s membership, please feel free to call our service center at (513) 421-3900, Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Eastern time, or contact us by e-mail at members@edta.org.
