You're going to have to do some reading to find the monologue that is best for you. Just because I think a certain monologue is funny doesn't mean you will, or you might think it's not right for you (maybe not the right historical period or doesn't meet the criteria of the assignment). Perhaps you should start off with some monologue books. Try your school or public library; check them out, take them home, and read them. There might be some books there that just focus on comic monolgues. If your school or local library are a little limited in this category, try the library at your local community college or university. Since they probably won't let you check them out, you'll have to read them there - make sure to bring some change along for the copy machines (if you find a monologue you like, you can copy right out of the book there in the library). If you don't live near a community college or university, perhaps you may have to buy a monologue book at your local book store - if you're interested in acting as a career, you're going to need to do this any way. If you live near a big city, you might see if they have a drama book store specializing in theater books (ex. Limelight Books in San Francisco, the Samuel French book stores in Los Angeles and New York City).

Good luck!
